A logic model is a visual representation of how your program works — connecting resources (inputs) to activities, outputs, and ultimately the outcomes and impact you intend to achieve. Many funders now require logic models as part of grant applications.
## Components of a Logic Model
**Inputs:** The resources your organization brings to the program (staff, funding, partnerships, facilities).
**Activities:** What your program does with those resources (training sessions, counseling, outreach events).
**Outputs:** The direct products of activities (number of participants served, workshops delivered, materials distributed).
**Outcomes:** The changes that result from your program (increased employment, improved skills, reduced recidivism).
**Impact:** The broader, long-term change your program contributes to (stronger communities, economic development, improved quality of life).
## Why Funders Want Logic Models
Logic models demonstrate that your organization has thought critically about how change happens and can articulate a clear pathway from investment to impact.
